I set up a Substack account about two years ago, with the intention of occasionally posting written articles about ideas that were too complicated to distill into a cartoon. Then I wrote a live show instead, and then I brought out a book. As a result, I’ve never published anything on here.
Well, that’s about to change. Partly because I’ve realised I have a lot of subscribers, despite the total lack of content (thank you for your patience). More importantly, though, the Great Game is getting increasingly fragrant with the overpowering musk of deception, and we must be careful not to put all our X in one basket.
I’ll be posting my cartoons on here, writing the odd article and sharing anything else I’ve made that you might be interested in.
I make no apologies for kicking things off by telling you about my book. It was launched at the start of October and is proving popular with both the fully initiated and the recently curious. So, an ideal Christmas gift for just about anyone you know.
This hardback book contains most of my cartoons published between 2020 and 2024, presented in chronological order, and beautifully reproduced over 240 pages. It’s a historical record, an alternative narrative, an antidote to amnesia and a journal of my evolving thoughts during this period.
You can buy copies from bobmoran.newsprints.co.uk
Order soon to ensure delivery in time for Christmas.
Best wishes,
Bob
Moments ago, I opened an email from one of my UK subscribers and discovered a picture of your handwritten message to me in your book, which will be en route to me shortly. I told him it was hands-down one of the most spectacularly special gifts of my lifetime—uplifting me during the darkest period of my life, having lost my beloved husband (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/ive-lost-half-of-me-pitched-past • https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/eulogy-for-the-patron-saint-of-insects • https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/the-art-of-losing) on July 21 to a sudden heart attack (unjabbed but genetically predisposed to heart disease).
Although my reader wrote the beautiful words you inscribed about an Apocaloptimist collaboration between us, I do fervently hope you share his sentiments, and it would be one of the greatest highlights of my life to collaborate with my favorite courageous cartoonist and Badass (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/are-you-a-good-german-or-a-badass) Apocaloptimist (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/against-defeatism-the-apocaloptimist).
If you don’t know me, you may know my poem “Mistakes Were NOT Made: An Anthem for Justice,” which Tess Lawrie and Mike Yeadon have both read:

That would be one potential candidate for collaboration. You will find me on your mailing list—please follow up via email if you would like to discuss the possibilities.
May this be the beginning of a beautiful friendship,
MAA
Dear Bob,
It is impossible to tell you how much we love you, and how important your work is. I saw your magnificent art before I even knew who you were. The 'playswing' piece got a good workout here in Australia. I got to 'know' you via Abi Roberts.
I hope you don't mind, but I cited your work in my article about Australia's killbox laws. We are in so much trouble here mate. https://vicparkpetition.substack.com/p/australias-domestic-medico-legal
God Bless you, and keep drawing.
